Costa Rica’s high season is about over, but that does not mean the fish stop biting. On successive days last week the 36ft Good Day Too with Captain Esteban Marcos out of Los Sueños Marina released 16 and 12 Sailfish respectively, along with some Dorado and a nice Wahoo. The fish will keep biting, that’s for sure. In June/July, the peak billfish season starts in earnest in the North Pacific, while Marlin will be lurking around the FADs in the South Pacific.
Americana Sportfishing announces two great offers: first is a luxury package in the North Pacific for 1-6 anglers. Stay at one of Tamarindo’s finest beachfront condominiums. This four-bedroom penthouse condo in the exclusive Hotel Tamarindo Diriá complex is right across the road from the beach, and within easy walking distance to fine dining, bars, and all modern amenities.
Fish two or three days for Marlin and Sailfish with one of the North Pacific’s top captains, Skeet Warren, on his 42ft, immaculately rigged Bushwacker (photo), who will come down from Flamingo. Extras such as catering and a rental vehicle can be arranged.
Second, Captain Bobby McGuinness, chosen world’s top captain in 2006 and 2010 by the International Game Fish Association, and on Saltwater Sportsman’s list of the 50 top saltwater charter captains in the world, GUARANTEES YOU A MARLIN! Bobby fishes out of Golfito in the South Pacific.
Between July and October, travel out to the FADs and fish either a three-day, two-night overnighter on Bobby’s 37ft Cazador (three anglers max) or three extended days to the FADs (1-6 anglers) and you are guaranteed one or more solid Marlin hook-ups. If you don’t get one, Bobby will give you at least one free day on a subsequent trip.
